It's been approximately a month, or more than a month actually, in the timeframe of the physical world, since we traveled from the town we were at to this capital town on the hill
Most of that time weren't spent traveling like what I expected, however. We spent most of the month up until today at a village between the two towns. We weren't initially expecting to spend much time there, but that's what ended up happening, and it was a really good thing
We learned so much in our time there, met many wonderful, amazing and insightful people. I didn't go out as much as I thought I should have and stayed within the tavern-inn a lot of the time, and mostly only go out during the night downstairs to the tavern portion of the inn or just slightly outside where the village people regularly hold these rather festive night hangouts around some campfires
During our time there, I learned more things and insights about protection and restoration magic as I struggled against quite strong demons, these insights are very helpful
But more importantly, we spent such wonderful times there with all the nice, wonderful and brave people of the village. I will never forget them. The nice inn-tavern lady who gives me and my friends drinks every night while soothing me with many of my troubles (in particular the red and yellow drinks, not quite sure what they are but I like them, well it's actually mostly the red drink and occasionally the stronger yellow drink but still), the younger inn-tavern lady who greeted us when we first came there, the gruff man who kind of seemed like he had his reservation about mages, the guy who was with him, all the nice people that talked to us during our nights out at the tavern, and the kids who sometime call me a hermit mage because I didn't go out much there (I think it might just be one of them who calls me that though, not quite sure)
We had such wonderful times there and I promised we will return
The gruff man I mentioned earlier accompanied us for the rest of our way to this hill capital town since he doesn't want to just let us continue our journey without making sure to the others at the village that we're safe all the way to our destination, and he said he has some business here as well
We walked halfway here from the village then we took a cart for the rest of our journey, the guy driving the cart knows the gruff man, he also said he often carries many different kinds of people and he seems to be very knowledgeable about a lot of things. He said he does grain trading as well between two places where one needs grain and one is able to produce a lot of them. He also said he likes doing what he does because he gets to travel to many different places without having to worry about things that we usually have to worry about when traveling not as a job that we do carrying people or things
I'm sorry if the pace of this particular section of my journal seems a bit hasty, I didn't write much during my time at the village other than my notes so I'm trying to make sure I put down as much here as possible as fast as possible just in case the physical body and mind I'm present on at this moment starts to lose these information
The way here when we were close to the hill capital town was quite peculiar, people dress differently, they seem to be used to travelers and adventurers as well, the gate was wonderful and tall like I expected, there were two guys guarding the gate, one of them seemed to be rather intentionally stern to abide to his duty as a guard, had his helmet half visor down too, and asked one of my friends if she were also a mage, which she replied by saying that she isn't, though she does know some magic. His other guard friend however seems to choose to be a lot friendlier, he had short orange hair and he didn't have his helmet on too. They seem to be rather close. Hans and Veto were their names, it's quite taboo to mention one's name to a mage like me or for a mage like me to ask or trying to figure out someone's name, but that orange hair guard guy didn't seem to have any issue with it at all. The gruff man remarked how their youth might have made them done so
The gruff man then guided us to this inn very close to the town's entrance gate, it seems to be fully an inn, the innkeeper lady mentioned that she knows the gruff man and how he used to be an adventurer, she also mentioned that she has a sister who works here with her. The gruff man and innkeeper lady escorted us to our rooms upstairs, the room and corridor layout are quite different than the previous inn, with it being a hallway with rooms on both sides and one room by the end of it right after we went up the stairs, the gruff man then left earlier to do his business here
While escorting us to our rooms while we unpack, the innkeeper lady mentioned how she gets a lot of adventurers and travelers here, and that she knows protection and restoration magic as well, and more. She mentioned how they are useful especially as an innkeeper at a town like this. She mentioned that there are many different kind of mages too, some like to travel alone, some got overwhelmed by PDIs (a type of attack by demons), and so on
When we talked, a demon did try to attack us but she helped me with it. It was amazing, she is really amazing and my friend thinks so too
But yeah, we're here now, again sorry about the very fast pacing of my writing as I don't want to forget about things before I get to write these down here
I will see if I can add more details and refine what I wrote further on a future note once we settle down more here, we just got here and it's quite busy or a rush right now
